My name is Angel Acordagoitia and I am an artist from Whittier, California. I have been creating art ever since I could walk. The only formal art training I’ve had were a couple of art courses at Cerritos College and working with my uncle, who is an artist as well. While attending Cerritos College I remember my Professor telling me “You’re so talented it’s scary,” [and] I guess she saw something in me that was forming. Working with my uncle I learned many art techniques, which included creating murals and working with acrylics. I learned so much from those experiences. Working with my uncle and attending Cerritos College molded me into the artist that I have become. I have shown my art in several art galleries throughout Los Angeles. Currently working on the Night Artist Collection.
I paint to create art that changes the way people look at art. With different lighting effects my paintings can be seen in an Alternative way, thus Surprising the viewer with another story to each painting. My art is a direct influence of my Mexican/American background. With each painting I portray a story or a message.
