Winter Exhibition: Bitter/Sweet | February 1 - March 21
Bitter/Sweet explores the duality of human experience, capturing the joys and sorrows of memory and milestones. Through a diverse range of artwork and mediums, this exhibition delves into moments of waiting, working, mourning, and celebrating within liminal spaces—those in-between times filled with transition and uncertainty. Bitter/Sweet, based on a concept inspired by Reed van Brunschot’s artwork, is an intimate and evocative opportunity that invites reflection on life’s bittersweet nature, offering a poignant look at the memories and emotions that shape us. Featuring sculpture, installation, and videos by Reed van Brunschot, paintings by David Shannon, Daniela Garcia Hamilton, and Yulia Gasio, installation video works by Alison Chen, as well as photography by Octavia Sharp.
Spring Exhibition: 40th Annual Made in California Juried Show | April 27 - June 29
Over the past four decades, Made in California has highlighted thousands of artists in all stages of their careers, offering them a chance to compete for a number of awards, including the coveted solo show opportunity. The 40th Anniversary Made in California exhibition exploring current creative movements happening in California will serve as a testament to the enduring legacy of artistic achievement in the state, and the Brea Gallery’s commitment to fostering local talent. MICA includes a solo show featuring a body of work by one artist selected by a guest juror. Averaging around 100 artworks from a variety of mediums, this exhibition continues to dazzle visitors year after year.
Summer Exhibition: Brea’s Art in Public Places | July 26 - September 19
Celebrating a legacy of 5 decades, Brea’s Art in Public Places Program sets the standard for public art in our region. With 50 years of relationships with world renown artists, this exhibit showcases multi-medium work by the artists in the collection. Rather than a historical retrospective, this exhibit will showcase the talent and technique that is featured around the City, while also looking towards the next 50 years of the program.
