As we approach the new year, The Brea Gallery is excited to announce our 2019 season. Please take a look and be sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss any of these incredible experiences.
Immersion
February 9th, 2019 - April 5th, 2019
This ambitious exhibition invites visitors to experience art in a whole new, profound way through the exploration of dynamic, large-scale installation pieces. As a handful of innovative artists take over the gallery and transform it into a series of imaginative environments, viewers will be astounded and inspired by these immersive works of art.

34th Made in California Juried Exhibition
May 4th, 2019 - June 28, 2019
In its 34th year, this annual juried tradition showcases a fascinating collection of artwork from artists all over the state of California. As always, MICA strives to highlight artists in all stages of their careers and offers them a chance to compete for a number of awards, including the coveted solo show opportunity. This regional show features artwork from an extensive variety of mediums and explores creative movements happening here in the Golden State. An artist in residence program will accompany the exhibit.

Colored Pencil Society of America
August 3rd, 2019 - September 13th, 2019
This travelling international exhibition returns to the Brea Gallery once more reveal the astonishing possibilities of colored pencils. Juried by Jean Stern, Executive Director of the Irvine Museum Collection at UCI, this impressive selection of 125 hyper-realistic drawings, filled with depth, value, and saturated color will defy the expectations of this medium.

51st Annual Watercolor West International Juried Exhibition
October 12th, 2019 to December 15, 2019
Coming off of a pivotal year, celebrating Watercolor Wests 50th Anniversary exhibit, the Gallery will host the 51st annual exhibition of the leaders in the traditional transparent watercolor technique. As before, Watercolor West will select a fine collection of diverse examples of the watercolor medium, presenting 100 works selected from over 1,400 international entries. The Gallery will again host the normal set of demonstration and lecture series that accompanies the exhibit, as well as additional watercolor workshops taught by renowned watercolor artists and instructors.
