Casey Cash is an emerging American artist, born and raised in California's Southern Central Valley. At its core, his work revolves around themes of nostalgia, identity, and the human condition. His artworks are an escape into a lush, subconscious world of bizarre and visceral reconstructions, composed of lived experiences and memories. Often, he utilizes ethereal depictions of the vast and isolated landscapes and imagery he grew up around as a backdrop for such reconstructions. With bright and saturated colors, often coupled with dark and odd imagery, Cash examines collective existential topics such as celebration, joy, mortality, and anxiety. A recurring theme in his work is the exploration of what forms our view of the world, and how that can shift during one’s lifetime on account of the events and traumas we have experienced due to our interactions with others.
Casey Cash holds a BA in Drawing and Painting, from California State University, Fresno. He has exhibited extensively in galleries throughout California, notably having his work selected for the renowned “Everything But The Kitchen Sink” group show at La Luz De Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, CA, and Soft Times Gallery in San Francisco, CA. He currently lives and makes art in his South Central Valley studio with his two dogs, Sid and Arnold.
