Founded in 1990, the Colored Pencil Society works to promote colored pencil as a fine art medium, educate artists and the general public of materials and techniques, and provide supplementary benefits for members.

Sound Bath with Brea Fitness

Discover the magical way that sound can help ease you into a meditative state and heightened mind-body awareness. Sound vibration affects all the cells of the body to reduce stress, align and balance the chakras and harmonize body, mind and spirit. This event is held in the spacious Brea Gallery, where the acoustics are amazing- so come join us and enjoy a soothing hour of relaxation!

Mats will be provided, but participants are welcome to being their own yoga mats, blankets, and small pillows.

Stimulate your senses at our Artful Sounds night! Enjoy an evening of wine and light refreshments while feasting your eyes upon Brea Gallery's 32nd Annual Colored Pencil Society of America Juried Exhibition, and soaking in the sweet melodies of Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet. Doors open at 5 PM for refreshments and gallery viewing, followed by the Orchestra Collective beginning their hour long performance at 5:30 PM. Take your time after the performance to mingle and peruse the gift shop to take advantage of a 10% off sale.

Brea Fest is a family event that is the “tastiest” celebration of the year! Guests are invited to sample delicious food and beverages donated from local restaurants while listening to live music. Enjoy exhibitions in the Gallery, demonstrating artists, live theater performances, shopping in market row, and much more! “Kidsville” is sponsored by North Hills Church and includes face painting, balloon animals, make-and-take crafts, a bounce house and kid-friendly foods.

Brea Fest admission and entertainment are free. There is a nominal charge of $4 per ticket that can be used for food and/or beverages. Proceeds from the event support Brea’s Art Programs, such as the Curtis Theatre, Brea Art Gallery, and Concerts in the Park.

It offers over $20,000 in cash awards, including a prestigious Best of Show (CIPPY) Award. In addition to the gallery exhibition, the selected artwork and award winners are featured on the CPSA website and in the CPSA news magazine. An interactive experience and high quality programs will be offered by Brea Gallery to round out this exhibition.

Please note the gallery will be closed to the public from until 5 PM in order to prepare for the opening reception.
