Irma Murray

Award winning artist Irma Murray has always been captivated by color. Spending countless hours drawing as a child, she found there were never quite enough crayons in the box. Sometimes you just had to create colors all your own, and so her journey as an artist began. Growing up in Ohio, Irma earned her degree in commercial art. She worked part time as a graphic artist and photo retoucher during the 24 years she lived in mid-Michigan while raising her family.

She is drawn to the quiet beauty of everyday moments and objects that we often fail to notice. Currently residing in Lewisville, TX, Irma is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, the Visual Art League of Lewisville, and the Cross Timbers Artists’ Guild. Her work has been juried into many regional and international exhibits, and has been included in several publications including Colored Pencil Treasures Volumes 4 & 7, Draw: Reflections in Colored Pencil, and Strokes of Genius 8.
