Key Dyer

Hello!

My name is Key Dyer. I am a multi-media artist operating out of the South Bay Area. Acrylic paint is my main medium, but within my works you will find elements of collage/structure/texture/play that urge closer inspection.

For my Made In California submission I took my skull character (affectionately known as SkullBoi) and filled his head with thoughts. Ephemera from my hometown are collaged into the background - train repair notes, imagery from discarded books/magazines, and local gravel are all in there!  The chaotic color relationships, textural elements, and words are a snapshot of any given moment inside our minds. So many thoughts, so little time.

We all have a lot going on inside that isn’t seen or expressed, and with this image, I tried to capture a concrete image of a fleeting feeling. I hope you enjoy.
