Tina Reyes

My Name is Tina Reyes and I’m a self-taught artist based in Mt. Olive, NJ, specializing in colored pencil and graphite pencil portraits. With a focus on pet and animal portraits as well as human likenesses, my work is characterized by its intricate detail and emotive expression.

Growing up, I faced significant challenges due to a congenital disability that required frequent hospital stays.  These experiences afforded me ample time to hone my artistic skills, developing a unique style that blends meticulous realism with a warm, personal touch.

My dedication to my craft has been recognized through notable achievements. My colored pencil piece “Curiosity”, featuring a fox earned me the E & M Haworth Memorial Award at the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council earlier this year.  Additionally, my work has been featured in Ann Kullberg’s “CP Hidden Treasures 5” art book, highlighting my talent within the colored pencil community.

Although largely self-taught, I spent a year studying commercial art at a community college, where I expanded my technical skills and artistic knowledge.  My goal is to continue learning new techniques and to establish my own website,  providing a platform to showcase my artwork and reach a broader audience.

At 58 years old, I maintain an active presence on Instagram where I share my latest creations and engage with art enthusiasts from around the world.  You can follow my journey and view my portfolio on Instagram at @tinaann12242018.

My story is one of resilience and passion, with my early life experiences shaping a deep appreciation for the healing and transformative power of art.  I continue to inspire others with my dedication to my art and my commitment to continual growth as an artist.
