I am a multidisciplinary Vietnamese-American artist based in Southern California. I graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Arts from California State University, Fullerton, and want to use my artwork to relate to others by referencing everyday experiences through a female lens. I use painting as a form of a diary entry, observing and confessing the absurdities of, at times private and embarrassing, life events in a dramatic manner to heighten the mundane. My paintings are amplified with caricatured figures, distorted surroundings, and overly saturated colors. Some artists who have influenced my work include Dana Schutz, Philip Guston and Ralph Steadman. My most preferred media is acrylic on either paper, canvas, or wood. By creating and exhibiting my work, I am able to connect with viewers through common experiences.
