Here’s what’s coming to the

Brea Gallery!


Excited to share all of the bold and new things at the Gallery for 2020.

These 4 brand new exhibitions continue to fulfill our mission to provide access and exposure to ambitious contemporary art for the community of Brea and all of Orange County.

One thing is for certain, 2020 is going to be brimming with unique artistic experiences and great art.

Chapter One

Opening Reception February 1, 2020 7-9 p.m.

This fantasy themed group exhibition explores the art of storytelling and the possibilities of imagination. Illustration, painting, drawing, stop-motion, sculpture, and more will fill the Gallery and draw viewers into mystical lands where they will meet sometimes whimsical, sometimes dark characters.

35th Annual Made in California

Juried Exhibition

Opening Reception April 25th, 2020 7-9 p.m.

This annual juried exhibit continues to explore artistic movements happening in California by featuring artists working in a huge array of mediums and styles. Selected by a panel, including Gallery Director Heather Bowling and guest juror Evan Senn, this show is a diverse cross-section of creativity from across the state. A solo show awarded to one artist will also be on view. Want to be a part of it? Submit here.

Taking Up Space

Opening Reception July 18th, 2020 7-9 p.m.

his female-forward exhibition provides a dedicated space for women in the arts to share their stories, perspectives, passions, challenges, and triumphs. An exhibit made up solely of female voices, staged to supplement rather than negate typically male-dominated shows, will be accompanied by noteworthy programming.

Opening Reception October 10th 5-7pm

Watercolor West is back to present a vivid collection of inspiring transparent watercolors juried by Iain Stewart. Each year this show features one hundred captivating paintings from all over the world, highlighting the potential of this challenging medium. High quality programs including the annual watercolor demonstration series will be offered.

Exhibit on view October 11th through December 13th, Wednesday - Sunday noon to 5pm.


All our opening receptions include light snacks, live music and a chance to meet some of the artists! It is free to the public. Don’t forget to stop in during our Fresh weekends! Each exhibit will feature two artists working in the Gallery, creating in real time as visitors can observe the process, ask questions and take photos.
