Double Goodbye
We have officially concluded our exhibition Domestic Detritus this past Friday, March 24th. Alongside saying goodbye to all the artwork, we will also be saying goodbye to our amazing director and curator, Heather Bowling.
Heather has dedicated over 10 years of service to the city of Brea and the Brea Gallery, and now she’s on to new endeavors as the Curator at the John Wayne Airport. We're all going to miss her terribly, but know that her legacy here at Brea will be everlasting.
Let’s look back really quick >>
Heather started at the Brea Gallery as part of the front desk, (look at how small and adorable!!) and worked her way up to managing and transforming the space to where it is today.
Heather said, “We have worked tirelessly to transform this gallery into a modern art space with a huge regional draw, engaging larger, more diverse audiences than ever before, and really honing our mission to introduce Brea residents to contemporary art and provide opportunities to local, emerging artists. I am so incredibly proud of what we have been able to accomplish.”
From beginning to end, we can see how much Heather has grown in her time with Brea and we are so excited to see what she creates at the John Wayne airport as Curator! If you would like to keep up with Heather, follow her on instagram: prettyinink3 and look out for her blog!! 👀
